PLAYING IN CLAY SINCE HER FIRST MUD PIES
PLAYING IN THE MUD FOR MANY YEARS:
CNC has been a practicing potter working under the name of CNC Pottery since 1971. Getting on in years, Carolyn hopes this website will inform people of her continuing pottery work. Tempus fugit, but an artist never really retires. In October 2019 she moved to The Quadrangle in Haverford, PA and is enjoying the pottery facilities there as well as its campus with a variety of creative people. One special interest has been her building and firing of small primitive clay kilns using firing techniques of the ancient Greek and Roman potters.
Since the move to Pennsylvania CNC's work has been on display at the 2020 and 2021 Small Favors show at the Clay Studio in downtown Philadelphia. She was a dealer at the spring 2022 Haverford Guild of Craftsmen and participated in the well known Philadelphia Miniaturia show in Cherry Hill, NJ in November 2022. As a member of the Raku Guild of Mainline Art Center, she participated in many experimental firings of raku and saggar wares. Health problems since December 2022 curtailed her pottery work for a while, but she maintains an online Etsy shop with her miniatures and is back to work at the art center.
Please contact her at [email protected] if you have special requests for her authentic 1" scale mini replicas in a wide variety of period settings as well as her original contemporary designs.
Selected pieces of CNC's pottery are available on her Etsy page, CNC Pottery Minis, as well as on occasional EBAY auctions.
